Mayim Bialik | Neuroscience

Debuting with an acting credit in the 1988 horror flick Pumpkinhead, Mayim Bialik began her journey in the entertainment industry as a child actress during the 1980s. Other projects she worked on throughout that period include TV shows like Webster, Beauty and the Beast, and films such as Beaches and The Kingdom Chums. With a couple more years of experience, Mayim has become most known for her performance as Amy Farrah Fowler in The Big Bang Theory.

In 2007, Mayim finished her doctorate study in neuroscience, which was also the same course she majored in during her years in university. Since then, it’s safe to say many of the things she learned throughout that time played a significant part in her career. After all, besides landing acting gigs, the Big Bang Theory star also wrote a couple of books, two of which talk about how the human body works and behaves – their titles are Girling Up and its follow-up, Boying Up.
